The "Athleticum am Volkspark", a modern competence center for sports, exercise and preventive medicine, is being built next to the HSV stadium for over 20 million euros. It offers comprehensive medical care - from prevention to rehabilitation - and will expect up to 60,000 patients annually. As a private clinic without health insurance approval, it is accessible to privately insured and self-paying patients, but plans to cooperate with health insurance companies. The center, a joint project with the UKE and HSV, among others, will open in mid-2024 and has unique facilities such as a large exercise pool.
